Congratulations to our second class pupils who made their First Holy Communion in Aughrim Church on Sunday. Saoirse, Aoibhe, Katie, Jamie, Patrick, Ryan, Olivia and Seamus worked very hard in preparation for their big day and carried out their responsibilities on Sunday excellently. Congratulations boys and girls.

Last week we went on a field trip to Strokestown Park House and Elphin Windmill. First of all we went to Strokestown House. We were split into two groups, the Senior room and the Junior room. We were brought on the tour of the house first. We saw all the bedrooms and the sitting room, kitchen and dining room. When we finished the tour we went on a tour of the Famine museum. When we had finished it all we ate our lunch and got on the bus again and went to Elphin Windmill. The first thing we did when we got to the Windmill was watch a video about how the windmill was constructed and learn the song about Elphin Windmill. Then went a tour of the inside of the windmill. We came down and got on the bus to go back to the school. All the pictures from the fieldtrip are in the gallery.

Communion is fast approaching and will take place this Sunday. The children who are making their communion are Patrick, Katie, Olivia, Aoibhe, Jamie, Saoirse, Ryan and Seamus. They have been preparing all week.
