Rounders Blitz 2026 โšพ๏ธ

The Senior Room had a brilliant day at the annual Rounders Blitz in Michael Glaveys GAA this week. The children did themselves and their school proud displaying great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.

We were narrowly defeated in our opening game against Cloonyquinn N.S. before bouncing back with an excellent victory over Rahara N.S. In our final match of the day, we were again narrowly beaten by Grange N.S. after another closely contested game.

Each match provided valuable learning opportunities, and the children improved with every game they played. Most importantly, everyone had a fantastic day out, enjoyed representing the school, and gained plenty of experience and confidence.

Well done to all involved! ๐Ÿ‘โšพ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿ’™Roscommon GAA visit๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ

There was great excitement in the school this week as we welcomed five Roscommon GAA football players, some of whom are past pupils of our school. The players have all been part of recent winning teams in Connacht and kindly brought along the cups for the children to see up close.

The trophies included: ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

  • Connacht Menโ€™s Senior Cup
  • Connacht Menโ€™s U-20 and Minor Cups
  • Connacht Minor A LGFA Cup
  • Connacht U-16 LGFA Cup

The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting the players and getting the opportunity to see the silverware firsthand.

A big thank you to Kilmore GAA and the Roscommon County Board for arranging this memorable visit for our school.๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

On the same day, our girlsโ€™ soccer team took part in a blitz, winning 2 out of their 3 games. Unfortunately, it wasnโ€™t enough to reach the final, but a fantastic effort from all involved.
