St. Brigid’s Day

St. Brigid’s Day was on the 1^st of February. This year all of the children in 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th and 6^th class made St Brigid’s Crosses out of rushes. They all collected their own rushes. The St, Brigid’s crosses contain 14 and 4 elastic bands .

The school book fair is coming to our school on the 23^rd of February for one week. All the children in the school will be able to buy any book that they would like in the book fair. All the sixth class will be in charge of the money and selling the books. the school will be able to purchase books for the school to the value of 60% of the money spent.

It will be leaving our school just before World Book Day which is on 5^th of March. We’re all looking forward to the book fair to come to our school.

On Friday 30th  January, three teams from our school took part in the Credit Union Quiz in Elphin. The first team was Lisa, Alicia, Rachel and Cian. The second team was made up of Grace, Niamh, Deirdre and Seán. The third team was David, Darragh, Cormac and Paul. Our first team came second in the under 11 group and got medals and some prize money.
